Caffinated Coffee May Reduce Oral Cancer Risk

Is anyone else excited about the news that just came out?

coffeeAccording to the American Cancer Society, there is a “strong inverse association between caffeinated coffee intake and oral/pharyngeal cancer morality.”

Stated in their findings, people who drank more than four cups of caffeinated coffee per day were at about HALF THE RISK of death from these often fatal cancers, when in comparison to those who rarely or never drank coffee.

There was also a highly noted decline in risk with each single cup per day consumed.

“Coffee is one of the most widely consumed beverages in the world and contains a variety of antioxidants, polyphenols, and other biologically active compounds that may help to protect against development or progression of cancer,” said lead author Janet Hildebrand, MPH.

So for all you coffee drinkers out there – good news and drink up – just don’t forget to brush/whiten those teeth so they don’t turn yellow from all that extra coffee you’re slurping down!
