Whether you need filings, or full reconstruction because of dental decay, disease, or trauma, Dr. Hayner offers a full range of restorative therapies and replacement teeth to restore your healthy smile.

Tooth-Colored Fillings

Tooth colored fillings are made of composite resins, and are colored to match your teeth. The composite bond placed on your teeth helps to support and insulate the remaining tooth structure against breaking, and temperature changes. Most composites can last 7 – 10 years.

Crowns

Crowns also called caps, are designed to restore structure, function, and strength to a tooth with extensive damage or decay. A crown fits perfectly on your existing tooth and exactly as a healthy tooth would, by protecting it from further damage and also by preserving the jaw’s alignment. Typically, crowns are made of precious metal, porcelain pressed to metal, or all-porcelain crowns. They can be designed, fit and placed in just a few short appointments. With normal at home tooth care, like brushing twice daily, and flossing a crown is extremely durable and long lasting.

Dentures and Partials

Whether a full set or partials, Dr. Hayner will design and fit a natural looking set to restore your smile. A full set of dentures contain an upper and/or lower row of prosthetic teeth on a gum-colored base, and mimic a natural smile. Dentures are typically held in place with adhesive but may be secured with dental implants for maximum stability. A partial is designed to fill gaps left from missing teeth by unnoticably anchoring them to the neighboring exisiting teeth. Partials are also designed to match the shade of your existing teeth for an impeccable, all natural smile.

Dental Implants

Some patients prefer implants to other prosthetics, because of its ability to mimic a natural tooth in look and feel. Implants are permanent additions to your smile, they are custom crowns mounted on top of tiny titanium posts attached to your jaw. Either one for each implant, or a few to mount custom bridges or partials.

Inlays and Onlays

Not every situation is right for an inlay or onlay, but can be easily assessed by Dr. Hayner. Inlays and onlays are created much like a crown, as they are created custom to your smile and allow you to maintain more of your natural tooth structure. Inlays are fit between the bumps on the top of your tooth called cusps. Onlays are fitted over one or more of the cusps. If your situation requires an inlay or onlay, first we will removed the decay, or old filling of the existing tooth. Then a dental impression will be made of your tooth and taken to a lab, where a technician will create a custom inlay or onlay. Before you leave you will be fitted with a temporary inlay or onlay until your final is delivered.

Crown and Bridgework

A bridge is a prosthetic tooth or teeth that is fixed permanently to one or both sides of existing teeth that are prepared with a crown. Bridges are a permanent restoration for your smile, not just designed to fill gaps created by missing teeth, but also prevent the repositioning of your existing teeth. If healthy neighboring teeth are not available they can be surgically implanted using metal posts, also known as implants. For a bridge that needs to replace many teeth we may recommend a partial denture or implant.
